Instructions:

  • Make sure to register and indicate you would like to present a poster.

  • Send us your abstract (500-words max) by Thurs, Oct 22, 2020

    • Submit abstract as PDF or Word attachment to uclamitomeeting@gmail.com

    • Subject Line - "Poster Abstract_LastNameFirstInitial_Title"

  • Abstracts will be blindly reviewed​ and those selected will be notified on ​Thurs, Oct 29, 2020

  • Expect 5 min of presentation time + 2-3 minutes for questions

    • This is will be dependent on the number of poster abstracts received.  We will provide further details closer to the event. 

  • We anticipate splitting posters into multiple groups with 2 judges assigned to each group.  These groups will run concurrently on Thurs, 11/5 from noon-1pm.  

  • Non-presenting attendees will be provided with an agenda detailing poster groupings w/ links to each group.

Presenting tips:

  • Think of an enticing title

  • Make your figures large and text clear.

  • Practice how you will virtually present your poster

  • Because the limited time, only a specific number of abstracts will be accepted.

  • You will have 10 minutes to present your work plus 5 minutes for questions.

Prizes rules for Poster and Junior Talks Competition

  • 1st, 2nd, and 3rd prizes will be awarded for the Junior Talks and for Poster Presentations

  • The judges will be selected from the academic and industry professionals invited to the symposium.

  • The names of the judges will not be announced until the end of the event to prevent preferential treatment.  

  • The rubric to select the winners will be based on research innovation and presentation skills. 

  • The judges decision will be final.
